UF: You Must Have Sex

From an article in The Gainesville Sun: "University of Florida employees have to pledge that they're having sex with their domestic partners before qualifying for benefits under a new health care plan at the university."

This standard is not applied to married couples. But you knew that, didn't you?

In an apparently related story, university officials announced that in an effort to motivate their gay male employees, this campus photo would be posted in all Men's restrooms used by the employees.

"The group trying to put a gay marriage ban on the Florida ballot in 2006 is being bankrolled by the state Republican Party."

"New state campaign finance records show that of the $193,000 that has been raised by Florida4marriage.org, the political committee working to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage, $150,000 of it came in a single donation from the Florida Republican Party." more
